eRecruiting

eRecruiting is an online database which Brooklyn College uses to administer the Senior Recruiting program as well as part-time, full-time, and internship listings. Through eRecruiting, students may apply to jobs and sign up for interview times online. eRecruiting also houses a Calendar which lists important Career Services and other career-related events and workshops. Students can often sign up online to reserve a space for these events and workshops.

STUDENT LOGIN PROCEDURES

Step 1:
Go to http://brooklyncollege.erecruiting.com/

Note: If you use AOL, you must open up either Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator separately in order to log into eRecruiting. You will not be able to log in through AOL's browser.

Step 2:
Enter your user name.

Your user name is made up of the YOUR FIRST INITIAL, YOUR LAST NAME, the LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER and the word "brooklyn".

For example, if your full name is Jane Test with social security number 123-45-6789, your username is jtest6789brooklyn.

Step 3:
Enter password.

If you are entering eRecruiting for the first time, you need to come in our office at 1303 James Hall to get your password.

Note: Students are advised to change their passwords after their initial login. (See Updating your Profile, below).

Step 4:
Click on the Enter button to enter eRecruiting.

From the home page, you will see important messages and instructions from the career center. Please read these messages carefully! To start, please complete the following initial steps:

  1. Complete your profile by clicking on “Profile” on the top navigation bar. The more complete your profile is, the more we can help you connect with opportunities
  2. Upload a resume by clicking on “Documents” on the top navigation bar and following the simple steps to upload a resume. Your resume must be in Word or .rtf to begin the conversion process
  3. Click on the “Calendar” link on the top navigation bar to view upcoming events and opportunities offered by the career center
  4. If you’re ready to begin looking for opportunities, click on “Jobs & Internships” from the top navigation bar and conduct a search

Updating Your Profile

To update or make changes to your eRecruiting student profile:

  1. Click on the Profile link on the main navigation bar
  2. You will be on the Personal Information section
  3. Click the Edit link on the top right
  4. Make any changes you wish to make to the information displayed on the Edit Personal Information page. Those fields that are required have a "*" next to them
  5. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page
  6. On the left side of the screen, under Profile Subsections, Click on >Academics. Then click the Edit link. BE SURE TO KEEP THIS SECTION ACCURATE!! You must include your major and Student Status (employers often select students by these criteria). Repeat steps 3 through 5 until you have made all the updates you wish to make
  7. You can change your password by clicking on Change Password under Profile Subsections

UPLOADING DOCUMENTS

You can upload one or several resumes, cover letters, and other documents to eRecruiting. You must have a resume uploaded to apply online to opportunities. The CDC provides resume reviews. It is recommended to get a review before applying to positions.

To upload a resume, cover letter, or other document to your eRecruiting account:

  1. Click on the Documents link on the main navigation bar
  2. On the Documents page, select a document type from the Upload Documents drop-down menu (resume, cover letter, writing sample, other document)
  3. On the Add a New Resume/Cover Letter/Writing Sample/Document page, click on the Browse button and find the document you wish to upload. Note it must be in MS Word or RTF format
  4. Click the Upload button. The system displays your Documents--Your Current Documents page for the type of document you just uploaded. You can click on any of the buttons in the documents section to view your current Resumes, Cover Letters, Writing Samples, or Other Documents. If you upload more than one resume, select one as your Primary Resume. Scroll down to "Change Your Primary Resume," select your new primary resume, and click the Change button. Click OK. Note: once you upload a document, it cannot be edited. You must upload a new resume or other document instead
