Welcome to the Magner CCDI CCDI offers a wide range of career programs for Brooklyn College students. How does CCDI interact with the campus community? The center acts as a clearinghouse for the whole range of career programs and concerns at the college. CCDI serves employers, students, staff and faculty, and academic departments. We offer referral, advice and training. The Senior Recruitment Program (SR) offers students the opportunity to meet with prospective employers on and off campus, and through the internet. Students are thoroughly trained in resume creation, interviewing, and job search strategies. SR staff reach out to staff and faculty to publicize important upcoming employer and career events such as job fairs and employer presentations. Student referrals are also actively sought out. The Internship Program (IP) provides students with internship opportunities during their course of study at Brooklyn College. IP also acts as a portal for information to academic departments that support or wish to establish academic internship programs. Internship Program staff reach out to employers, increasing internship possibilities for students and academic departments. The Faculty Internship Advisors Committee was established in the spring of 2003 to facilitate communication between CCDI and academic departments presently supporting or wishing to create internship programs. The committee meets to discuss internship issues, establish best practices for internship sites and programs, and strategize on expanding student internship opportunities. Members of the committee are key players in the college's efforts to make internships available to all students wishing to do an internship while attending Brooklyn College. Early Career Advising reaches out to students early on in their college careers. The program provides students with professional career counseling, assessment, career resources and career decision-making skills. The program connects with students through attending orientations and club meetings, staff and faculty referral, career workshops and presentations, etc. The Honors Program, the Learning Center, TOCA, Student Government, Academic Advising and SEEK are just a few of the programs that support CCDI out reach efforts.
